Hi Tom F, I'v got a Falcon FN-19-RB 22cal 8 shot magazine which is a PCP rifle of 22cal. I use it for shooting rabbits and Air-rifle shooting competitions. Spencer.

Hi Andy, Google, "the history of air rifles", There you will find an artical about the two great American explorers Lewis and Clark. They carried with them two .31cal air rifles during their exploration of the American continent beyond the Mississippi. In the Birminham museum of science and technology there is on show various large calibre ( .36 - .50 ) air rifles from the 17th and 18th centuries. Spencer.

I have heard of such guns before, but is there now modern equivalents?

Hi Andy, Here in the UK the largest airgun pellet or air bullet is .25cal (6.35mm), they are not for use in normal airguns that are restricted to 12 ft/lbs ( 15 joules). The higher powered FAC guns to which these .25cal pellets are used are typically of the range 25 to 32 ft/lbs. Spencer.

Hi Andy. I have just learned that they still produce airguns in America that fire a 9mm pellet, they are used for hunting deer. Also in Russia they still use 9mm and .45cal air rifles for hunting wolves. Spencer.

Yes, my Uncle has used them for deer hunting and the air pressure is high. I'll have to get some more information from him. If I would have known the interest I could have asked him when we boned out two deer last week.(by modern rifles)

I'll have to catch him between hunts.

I did find this http://www.pyramydair.com/cgi-bin/show.pl?cmd_category=show&category_id=2

That should wet your appetite
