Increasing Cloud Cover

01/25/2006 12:40 PM

Scientists say that less sunlight is reaching the Earth. The light is being reflected by increased cloud cover. You would think that would lead to the Earth cooling, but in fact it has the opposite effect. It turns out there are two kinds of cloud cover, low altitude and high altitude. It's the high altitude cloud cover that is increasing. These kind of clouds are effective at keeping heat. Here's the link to the story

"The Left Wing" , .... I mean "The West Wing"

So, the politically engaged are "adept at making decisions without letting the facts get in the way...And they get quite a rush from ignoring information that's contrary to their point of view. The study points to a total lack of reason in political decision-making." Ho-hum, what else is new? In other words, "Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely." For an excellent and remarkably realistic (despite the obvious Left Wing slant) portrayal of this behavior, check out just about any episode of "The West Wing" (recently cancelled after one of the primary cast members passed away), especially if the story involves electioneering, spin, or lining up votes in Congress, which covers most of the plots.
