Why don't you go to the IEC and BS Web Sites and look them up for yourself?

Are you really so lazy that you want others to find answers to your questions and give you the results of their labors.

I personally am getting very tired of posts by people that are unwilling to do even the most basic of searches.

I found your answer in less than 2 minutes!

Do it yourself!

I just had a discussion about this precise subject, the lazy nature of some posters.

Well said even if a bit bluntly.

It will still happen that posters are so lazy.

At least this Guy is a fully logged on CR4 member (who should know better I agree!), rather than a "guest" of unknown shape, size, sex, sexuality leanings who could theoretically even be a half intelligent PC program that someone has written to talk to us and annoy us on CR4!!!

forgot that was also an option, what if this program takes on a chosen new identity unbeknown to its creator who is also active on cr4?

Now it is annoying its creator as well, funny.

Does anyone notice a sense of paranoia here? Kinda like Tweek. (South Park reference for those of you not enlightened. Of course his is caffeine induced. Hmm. Maybe I'm on to something.)

Dear Friend,

It is easy to give advice. The advice with solution is more useful.

Do not give such advice only give solution.

Please note this.

"what could be the design criteria for earth pit as par IEC or BS?"

Well, this is not a problem.

Better asking a question or some which relate to the problem you're facing with regard to the electrical phenomenas. Then the engineers here will give you some option of solutions based on knowledge and experiences.

Don't ask thing that shouldn't be asked!

Don't try to utilize us as your searching engine!

Re: Earth pit

thanks for all of our well hands on expirenced so called engineer for their enlighted, delighted, time pass and killing the time response. we belive this forum is not for serch the engine and paste here, if serch is the option we could have done well, what we need is sharing of practical exposure, if any body really have it, and farther more this is not a chatting center. if you guies belive your expirence is a labor then dont share it.

the effort you guies put to post all the above, could have been utilised to explain the same as well.

To be important is nice but to be nice is more important.

Bemoan for my post.

This is not search engine site , just discussion forum and tool , you have to be specific for postings ,just some time ago one guy reacted very heavily just like you, it doesn`t mean rude , these guys here are well experienced and seniors to people like us , they command respect and you have to post your discussions with presentation little backup for your question and your proffesional back up , you should possibly Know the answer and can post deeper discussion for finishing also people know something practical , don`t we interact with people round the globe so effectively having different conditions , different systems , you have to understand , you gain knowledge better with , critisism, controversy , joking ,apart from serious approach , you still can post the same question in different format , little explanation , you see the response , i am sure you will enjoy this site and co operate activley from there on...

Your last post is partially unreadable because you are so clever and did not use the spell checker, your whole point was lost!!! How silly!!!

By the way, because you explained so little in the very beginning in a proper manner, it was almost impossible to help you anyway!! We did our best with the limited information supplied and now you get uppity!!!! (that word you may have to guess at!!)

If this was a game of football, you would have probably lost by at least two goals to nil....read back what you wrote.....learn something from the experience....do it better next time!

design of earth pit depends on the fault current which has to pass to the earth, soil resisitivity and the time for the fault current to pass through. the relevant IS is 3043 & BS is 7430:1998( you can check www.bsi-global.com).There are formulas given for various application like lightning protection, telephone earthing aND ELECTRICAL EARTHING.
