I saw a map from the CDC or NIH or one of those, but it was in absolute numbers. That is not good information. Better information is to code the infections on a per capita basis. Then you have a better picture of the infection rate.

A thousand cases in Iowa is far different than a thousand cases in New York City.

If a significant percentage of people contract the disease but have few symptoms, we won't know about those unless they get tested for the anti-bodies.

Only those who have significant symptoms are going to get tested, especially considering the current strain on the medical care system.

We can only wait and see.

Without comprehensive testing the US numbers are WAGs (wild assed guesses) pro rated back from hospitalizations. The US is finally getting large numbers of tests done but on a per capita basis is way behind Korea and so has no idea of the problem. To be fair the US isnt as incompetent as my own home of the UK. It would not be a surprise to see huge ramps in hospitalization over the coming weeks because the sheer size of the problem is unknown

Just in case anyone was wondering Trump was not even close on the population of Seoul - the city has about 10 million the greater urban area 25milion which is almost half the national population of 55million. I too is wondering what the testing can accomplish if people are not limiting their exposures?

If a fellow test positive then the person can be isolated, but what about those that tested negative?

A person being negative can be positive the following day?

What good will testing if no medication is available? It is just giving the negative tested people a false sense of security..

Similar to those that wear masks, thinking it will prevent them from getting the virus? Not realizing there is a correct way and a wrong way of donning those masks?

I suspect that the graphs might be following what seemed to happen in Australia. They seem to have predicted a "believable" number to maintain some level of political and public trust and then once the public had been educated in what the graphs meant they could talk about possible future scenarios.
