You Couldn't Make It Up

04/20/2020 3:31 PM

This story from 2017 is like a script for exactly what's playing out in front of our eyes right now.

The very uncontrollable nature of diseases in general and today's pandemic in particular shows exactly why diseases make for virtually useless weapons. On the flip side; what probably actually prevented WWIII, the economic codependency of globalization, made the world more susceptible to the economic collapse created by this pandemic.

As bleak as things seem today, this too will pass.

True, this to will pass, but so do tidal waves, and like Tsunamis, they lay to waste everything in their path.

In this case,it is the world economy.

The damage left behind to the economy will be long lasting, and it will take a very long time to recover from the self-fueling tail spin.

The world will never be the same.

The silver lining to this storm is that people and families may grow closer and realize how we all need each other to work together.

Ironic that something as small as a virus can affect an entire planet.

The presence of the Wuhan lab at the centre of the outbreak is hair raising however the DNA apparently does not match.

If there was a 100 % match then we would all be pointing the finger at them but at 98 % there is suspicions the source involved use of the original virus from Wuhan but that it was tweaked somewhere else before being released.

The problem is, but not being answered or deferred. Sure they say that COVID-19 shows it wasn’t manmade, that is what is being said. Unfortunately what was asked is, did they have COVID-19 in the lab to study?

Could you give a reference to the 98% number? I've seen different numbers. Apparently, because of mutations, the result may not be within 2% accuracy.

When a virus jumps from one species to another, it can do so because of a mutation when it is replicating. So the original virus which lived harmlessly in the bat was not able to affect other species (pangolins or humans) until the mutation. So I would not expect a 100% match between the Covid-19 virus and the parent virus in a bat.

Here is an excellent article that explains how the virus spreads and how it affects the human body.

So was the movie Contagion. Anyone who reads science fiction knows it all comes true eventually. It's a unique skill SOME humans have. The ability to look at the macro and see where it goes.

All reputable science has confirmed it is a novel wild virus.

As for the economy, well it was a house of cards designed for the rich to pull money out without putting anything in. Given that, the system was set to collapse anyway so no harm done that would not have occurred on its own. Allowing those afflicted with avarice to run any money system only ends one way. Ah, but then we are back to those pesky people who can extrapolate the future based on the actions taken today.
