No, it is real. Satellites have been being sent up to orbit the Earth for decades now.

You can go outside and see this train of satellites yourself with the help of this website.

This site https://james.darpinian.com/satellites/?special=starlink is very good for letting you know when you can see a flyover. The right side of the screen shows satellites flying over when you are in the city but do not have any street lights or other lights directly in your viewing area. I would say that the size and relative brightness are about right on this web site. I was out earlier and the satellites seemed dimmer than this but I was blocking bright lights with my hands and a nearby tree.

What I saw tonight was much dimmer and much farther apart. I recall a video after the first launch where the satellites were as close together as this video. With a sky darker than shown in the video and everything made much brighter by big optics my guess would be that the video is real.

I only saw 43 satellites in the video. There were several gaps that seemed like the right size for a satellite. I wonder if the satellites have bright sides and dark sides.

Tonight I only saw one satellite from one batch and two in a row from the other batch. With good sky conditions I am surprised I didn't see more.

I don't know how we will be able to safely punch manned launches through the sky when Mr. Musk is done filling the sky with these things.

Rewording the middle of my posting #7 - With large optics I think the video is probably real but I don't think it represents what the unaided eye would see.

As someone who doesn't understand it, I think it's spectacular on the face. I can't say that it's just as effective these days and doesn't seem like a deception.
