I usually like to provide as definitive an answer as I am capable of, but in this case the question is just to broad.

What do you intend the motor to do? Is it strictly a science project or does it have to drive an actual load. Or are you just interested in basically how a motor works?

Do you have a basic knowledge of electrical circuits? Do you have the equipment, materials and ability to fabricate mechanical devices?

My best suggestion is to do some internet inquires on motors. There are various websites that can provide a far better explanation of how an electrical motor is constructed.
