ASSuming you mean an AC motor on a centrifugal MACHINE...
the “best” way is to apply power to it in accordance to what you have available. Centrifugal machines are basically the EASIEST type of machine that can be attached to a motor, so any kind of starting method is fine. Figuring out which is “best” has to do with other facts not in evidence here.

I was thinking it was the kind of motor with a starting capacitor that is taken out of circuit once the RPM's had risen to the point that centripetal acceleration causes weights to overcome the spring pressure holding the contacts closed.
Therefore, the best way to start those motors is to apply power to them.
