Purchasing RF Components in the US

11/09/2007 11:54 AM

Hi All

I am new to the USA and do not know where people generally buy there RF components from (In the UK I would use Farnell or RS Components) . For example distributors that carry a selection of AVX, murata, philips or amphenol components.

I also need to find a sourse for RF breadboarding copper clad board which has the top surfce cut into small squares suitable for fitting surface mount components.

Lastly for now anybody know where I can get an ecconomy cal kit for a network analyser to 3GHz ish

Thanks in advance, Steve

What I don't know about RF would fill several large books, but you can get all kinds of components from DigiKey, Newark, and Allied (make sure it's Allied electronics not electric).

I don't know where you might find the cal kit you are looking for. At 3GHz I would expect it to be expensive.

For parts, I would look at www.digikey.com I read somewhere that they are the 3rd largest distributer in the US. They also deal with we little folk who need 1 or 2 quantity of a part. I will also add Mouser Electronics although I don't have their web page handy. These are all mail order houses. If we knew where you are, we could possibly help you with local sources.

Another vendor might be Jameco Electronics www.Jameco.com .

Steve-

For your RF connectors, I've always looked into Amphenol RF (if you haven't already). http://www.amphenolrf.com/main.asp?N=0&sid=47379780DADBCFF
