Geography of Solar Cell Production?

I am looking for information regarding where most solar cells are manufactured. Is it USA or China or some other country. I would also like to get some information on newer more efficient solar cells. I have heard there is a sheet system that can be applied directly to windows, but I have no success in locating this system. Any help would be appreciated.

This is difficult to answer whether US or China manufactures most solar cells for shear quantity and efficiency .you can google for this . I think sheet type solar mdules are not so commercialised till now , but are seen in labs testings .. thank you

Good morning from the east coast.

Look up homepower.com. Oct/Nov issue has a great article on who manufactures

and provides a "module comparison spec sheet". Good luck.

Last time I looked this sort of information up, I ended up at Sunwise. Where the stuff was made didn't matter to me, but did seem it was US stuff.

A couple of months back, npr.org broadcast a report about the former East German "Silicon Valley" becoming a big player in solar cell production.
