Which App on My Android Might be Allowing Remote Access?

11/17/2020 11:48 AM

I can no longer get into my bank account because:

How can I find out what that app might be, I keep doing searches but only get results showing list of good apps to gain remote access.

Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks Solar: I've got none of the Apps mentioned in the article. I'm looking into various security apps, but none seem to monitor apps for permissions.

Do you know how to check the list of apps on your phone? Try checking the list of most recent ones. Also check your individual app settings for remote access option which may have been enabled (accidently, through an update, etc) as it may be as simple as disabling an apps access rights to fix the issue.

Also, you may have picked up some unwanted dodgy software which may be hidden and should get some additional anti virus software.

Can't really be more specific than that given the available information and variaability of the software and OS out there. You may need to go to a phone outlet and ask the help desk for advice (do you have any of those left in your country)?

Yes I've checked all recent apps, and deleted a couple of possibles as well as some older ones that I don't recognise.

It's tempting to call in at the bank's local branch before it closes for good, otherwise this problem might persist forever.

Changing banks is another solution, and there are plenty of switch adverts blasted across local television services at the moment. The threat of doing so is often enough to precipitate a solution; bluff is a valuable skill in business.

"It's tempting to call in at the bank's local branch"

That's what I did this morning, and although I've been trying to figure this out for about three weeks now, as soon as I tried to demonstrate the problem it worked perfectly.

Why does that happen? I remember when I was at work about four out of five problems vanished as soon as I walked onto the shop floor.
