What's this TinyMCE "Thing"

12/05/2020 10:36 AM

Is everyone else seeing this when they post a reply or question:

Is it safe to just follow the link?

Yes.

Savvy gave me a good link to this question that I asked yesterday (naughty, naughty, for not checking). A decent source informs me that it's like a bolt-on bit of script that is often used in forums that have chatrooms. Support stops at the end of ths year, and I think it will function for a few months longer.

Click the 'x' at top right to get rid of the annoying thing, and cross fingers that in due course Globalspec/CR4 will migrate to it's next format.

End of year, and many developers put deadlines for support r end of life etc (eg Adobe flash).

It's safe to check out. Luckily somebody on the naughty step messaged to explain a bit more in plain English.

So they’re stopping support on CR4?

As per Savvy at #3, it's just a temporary glitch as the Tiny Mice upgrade. Everybody can still send me dirty messages in private.

Tinymce is an open source html editor for servers, the new version is out and this is a prompt to upgrade...no need to panic...

OK, perhaps I'm being slow, but do we need to do anything or will CR4 take care of it?

But I'm still not clear, do we need to do anything or will CR4 take care of it?

This is the html editor on the Cr4 server, I don't think you or I can do anything about it....that would require administrator access...we are just lowly posters...

This message should be gone now, I pushed an update to the site on Wednesday afternoon. Apologies for the delay and having to put up with the message for a while.

Thanks Merph, does that mean the daily digest notifications will resume as well?

That I'm unsure of. I was only tasked with fixing the text input plugin this time around.
