Where to Buy Collets and Collet Nuts, in Plastic and Metal

I have a project to make telescopic locking mechanism with pvc and steel pipes. Do you know any online store, which have various size range collets, collets nuts and pipes or tubes?

Another issue is that collet creates the telescopic adjustable length mechanism, but it doesn't prevent the tube from detachment if pulls to its full length.

I tried my best to search, but I live in Canada, ON & most suppliers are in USA, so either results doesn't show up due to the location or most suppliers don't ship to Canada.

Thanks. This one also available at aliexpress.com. Their shipping time is more than 4 weeks, sometimes more than two months. If couldn't find it locally, then it'll be the last option.

You could try a woodworking supplier. The cutting bits for shapers and routers are held in place with a collet and collet nut. Various sizes of adapter sleeves, collets, and collet nuts are available. Collet chucks are also used in lathe work - search machine shop suppliers.

In a pinch I have used a plastic compression fitting and just drilled the shoulder for the tubing seat out of the bore so the tube will pass through. When using a metal compression fitting, if the same fitting is available in nylon, I use a nylon ferrule in place of the metal one.

If you just need one or two fittings, that might be an option with the parts available at the local hardware or auto parts store.
