Regarding Electrical panel

11/19/2007 2:11 AM

Hi,

I am electrical student. I don't have that much knowledge of Electrical Panel.

I want to improve it. Can you please suggest me how to improve it or any other reference books/sites for it?

Regards,

Jim

Jim,

It's a bit of a mine-field - the best way to learn would be by working with someone already experienced.

Failing that, you'll find some useful information and links at http://www.patchn.com/panelbuilding.htm

Many manufacturers catalogues and sites also have useful stuff.

This book looks quite good from the extracts shown.

Good luck

John

This is a big topic. You don't give much detail about what you want. However, try:

http://www.schneiderelectric.ie/prismaplus/index.htm

http://www.cubic.dk/

Have a word with a local electrician about panel builders in your area. Ask them if it would be possible to visit and see how they are produced. This can be useful because they will invariably have boards at several stages of production, so you can see the progression from basic framing to final finish and testing.

Unfortunately Health and Safety laws make it more difficult for unqualified persons to visit factories so don't think its rude if they say no. Just persevere with other builders.

Best of luck.

www.cutler-hammer.eaton.com has a large electrical course that covers just about anything you will run into. It was free. Try it.

Good luck,

James
