Filters For Blower Room

11/19/2007 6:06 AM

We are having blower room with 5 blowers. We are in process of design filters for this room. Total capacity of these blowers are 16000 Nm3/h. What are points to be considered for proper filtered air intake? These blowers air will be used for natural gas fired furnace as combustion air.

Points to be considered may be as under (assuming blowers are handling air)

1 Pressure drop across filter approx < 25mmwc

2 Dust holding capacity of Filtering media

3 Effective area of each Filter frame

4 Filetring media to be water washable (should not shrink while washing by water)

5 Easy access for filter washing

6 Air tight blower room door

7 Roughly one filter frame of 24" x 24" x 6" can take air flow of 1000cfm with

delta P < 25mmwc.You will need at least 10 filters of aforesaid size. You may fix 15 filters.

8 You can fix delta P measurement for arriving at frequency for filter cleaning.
