Dear Fellow CR4 Denizens,
I am looking for a thin, low-thermal-mass, rapid-heating, low-voltage heater. I've done a bit of looking already, but I haven't yet found anything quite suitable. Perhaps someone here on CR4 has either used or knows where to find something similar:
- 6 x 8 inches to 8 x 10 inches. Dimensions not critical. Square or rectangular.
- Very low thermal mass: temperature rise from room temp (~70-75 F) to 110 F within 15 to 30 seconds. Critically important.
- Low voltage, ie, 6 V to 12 V power. Very important.
- Uniform heat distribution. Important.
- Flexibility not important but typically inherent in this type of heater.
- Heater surface will be powder-coated on one side. Consequently, surface must be able to accept such coatings without loss of adhesion.
- Opposite face of heater to be bonded to rigid, insulating backing plate.
- Inexpensive technology suitable for mass production (20K to 50K units/year, possibly more or less). Very important.
