What is EPDM used for pump seals??

what is the specific reason to use it????

It is near as damn it rubber...It is cheap, has a good coeficient of restitution, is pretty resistant to abraision and, as PW says, pretty good chemical compatibility. We use extensively for peristaltic pump tubes where it performs as well has high grade silicone tube at a fraction of the cost.
