The proffered velocities and accelerations of some of these objects seem more like analysis errors than real kinematic values. If they were real I would expect additional effects from the environment like the rooster tail from the RafaelM in a low altitude loop.

Cherenkov radiation is a relativistic effect of the kind of environmental effects I anticipate any solid object exceeding the sonic speed of a medium (air) should produce. But none of the unexplained images from that 60 minutes report included any corroborating secondary effects.

Enters water with no splash?

I did not hear a claim of entering water without a splash. I did hear the claim that the ship crew announced "Splash, Splash" but not if the did or did not observe a splash of water.

Your claim of "no splash" is exactly how accidental false information is added to an account.

Splash just means it appeared to have hit the water....What I was referring to was that there was no visible eruption of water plume that would be expected with an object striking the water...

I never saw the object submerged in water either.

Yeah, I have to agree. The video you referenced pretty much explains how the released videos can be explained without any extraterrestrials.

I like the idea purported to Willy Ley. We are a tourist stop like the Grand Canyon. He claimed that the near dual planet pair of the Earth and Moon make us a novelty to visit.

I don't truly trust anything I see in video,it is so easily and convincingly altered.

For instance,the signs you see while watching a game,that appear on the back fence are computer generated.So for me,all video is out for evidence of UFO's(unless of course,I take the video myself).

However,I do believe that nature is not wasteful,and that the universe is full of life.

Living organisms have been found thousands of feet down bore holes,under extreme pressures and temperatures.

Living creatures exist in very high altitudes,carried around the planet by winds.

There are organisms that can dehydrate and hibernate in space,immune to radiation,near absolute zero,organisms thriving in sulfuric acid,and there are many other extremophiles.

Earth has only a small sample of possible life forms.

Humans have a limited knowledge of physics.

It was once thought that no one could survive at faster than 30 MPH,because they could not breathe.

Then it was breaking the sound barrier that was considered impossible.

Now we think that C is the maximum speed.

We cannot imagine the technologies that may exist outside of our measurable constraints;The advanced technologies that make our understanding of them impossible to even imagine?;Violations of inertia,propulsion,warping of space time that would allow movement without disturbing the surrounding with turbulence?

Insofar as certain types of UFO's yes,I know they exist.I was struck by many in a bar room fight one night when I was younger.I was transported through time and space and woke up many miles away much later, with bright lights shining in my face as I was being wheeled down a hall way by strange looking masked creatures,but it seemed to all happen in an instant.I was unable to speak for many weeks,because my jaws were wired shut.(That is when I learned ventriloquism and sign language).

Now,all jokes aside, there are certain to be older,wiser and more advanced civilizations than ours.

I hope they are benevolent,and not malevolent,carrying a book on "How to serve man".

I'm pretty sure there are otherlife forms in the universe, a famous quote concluded it would be a huge waste of space if we were it.

Obviously if they can zip around the galaxy they are far more advanced than we are and possibly live a whole lot longer than we do. In any case I am sure they see us as that uncontacted amazonian tribe of the milkyway and avoid distrubing us as we do have anthropological value as a fore runner species to study. Possibly one of the few species still found in the galaxy that has not acheived ......

Maybe the earth is the trash bin of the universe. Maybe life is un-natural, a deadly infection, and forbidden from the universe, and all life found is dumped here.

I find it interesting that the Pentagon confirms it cant explain the images; I would assume they have some very high tech means to identify them.

It will be interesting to see what the upcoming report says. Will they really report that they do not know what these images are? That will start a whole new industry, maybe even some new religions.

If they are truly mysterious, what cost and how long will it take for an answer? What priority does this puzzle have?

Has anyone heard if the report might contain physical evidence? Or any evidence besides visual images, sensor data and human testimony? Maybe a material or contact impressions. Something hard and physical.

They have been here for millions of years.

Consider the ants for example.

And other insect colonies.

Their form of government has endured for millions of years,has survived all natural holocausts and still they go about their business unperturbed by the so called higher life forms.They are about as concerned about us as we are about them.

Kick over an ant mound,and there is no tentacle-pointing trying to place blame,they simply get to work with repairs.

I would not want to be an ant or insect,not many people would,and that is why the insects,the meek, will inherit the Earth long after we have turned into fossilized layers of metallic,radioactive,plastic,and nitrate/nitrite preserved meats.(The hot dogs will still be edible.)
