PLC (programmable logic controller) vs SCR (silicon-controlled rectifier)

Two different animals....

PLC, to a cable jointer stands for, Pulling Large Cables, Pulling Lotsa Cables, Pulling Littun Cables. SCR, some cables ripped!

Having worked with PLCs and SCRs there is a big difference, swap them around and ash is prevalent. A PLC can be used to control the SCR firing circuit.

A PLC contains a program written in some "language" where certain outputs do certain things depending on values seen on the inputs.

SCR controller just fires the gate circuit of the SCR at a certain part of the AC cycle to control the power.

Given 126 meanings for the first TLA and 106 for the second, there are an amazing 13356 possible yes/no answers to the original question. Anonymous Poster #1 can look it up in a table.

Invitations to populate the table are declined.
