The answer could be anything that a Posted reply to your Topic chooses.

Why?

You have given no actual facts, except you want "the busbar rating calculations".

With that information, any answer is going to be either right............or wrong, or both.

Further information is required, please reply with it, and hopefully you may be helped.....

Hello again....

You need to supply the following:

  1. Busbar material: Copper/Copper Tinned/Aluminium/Silver etc
  2. Busbar Width
  3. Busbar connections: Clamped/bolted/pressure springs
  4. Enclosed Chamber or open
  5. If Closed Chamber, advise whether vented into aroom, or outside (In case of explosion)
  6. Natural air cooled/oil cooled/gas cooled
  7. If air or gas cooled: Convection or fan forced
  8. If Oil cooled: Convection via external radiator/Fan to that radiator
  9. Ambient temperature range: Give annual temperature range
  10. Humidity level: Give annual variations of the range
  11. PSC = Prospective Fault Current (Instantaneous)
  12. Voltage used
  13. DC/AC
  14. If AC, single or 3 phase
  15. There are other requirements needed, but those are a start.

If you ask a question, and give enough facts here please, then a proper answer may be given to you....

Hello again abcd.............................................

You don't have to use all CAPITALS - which is bad manners in a Forum, being the same as shouting in the reader's ear.

That 24Amps Total is a very low current requirement.

Copper 6mm x 1mm thick tinned copper would be plenty, as a guess, because you did not give all the information asked for in my Post above..

You do not state whether this Busbar set is in the input to your Main Switch or Circuit Breaker. If so, the PSC = Prospective Short Circuit current needs to be known.

If the total load after that Main Switch or Circuit Breaker, ensure that Main Switch or Circuit Breaker is capable of withstanding the PSC.

On-Line Busbar Tables are readily available, try here:

http://www.copper.org/applications/busbar/ampacity/bus_table1.html

and a Busbar designer Wizard is here:

http://www.copper.org/applications/busbar/ampacity/bus_table3.html

Just for your information: I quickly found those two webpages, using Google Search Engine, search terms: Busbar Table, which you really could have done yourself.

If you Search things out for yourself, then next time you remember it, also if you find a useful webpage, you can Bookmark it for later reference.

Hope that assists you, advise further if needed.....

http://catb.org/%7Eesr/faqs/smart-questions.html

Everyone using this forum understands that there are many people from various parts of the world participating and this can result in problems making yourself understood. It can be very difficult for readers to even begin understanding what you are asking.

Please ... go to these links and read, understand, and apply the concept of what they are telling you. Admittedly these links are generated by people involved in software work. The protocol, etiquette, etc. are the same. Please apply them here and in any forum based arena.

Then come back and tell these good people what you are needing. Many will try to assist ... if they can figure out what you are asking.
