Without setting off the resident D.Q.’s

Through-out the pandemic, just follow the money… as in royalties and licenses.

Hydrochloroquine, bleach, UV exposure into bronchi, Ivermectin.... Didn't you just love all of those bright ideas? Maybe this is bound to be different.

Interesting.

Med Cram????????

Seems strange that this was labeled "new" when it came from a repackager of "news" already known to science.

Med Cam is more like watching a slick salesman on the internet introducing a new product we all can't live without.

Granted, if correct in their assumptions and "facts", Med Cram would be a good way to introduce these topics to laymen and students. ALA Carl Sagan.

Thanks! It's overly wordy/long, but well worth listening to/watching in its entirety.

SOUNDS LIKE A MELATONIN SALESMAN. I've noticed that there are a plethora of sleep products on the market containing Melatonin.

To summarize all of the above by Medcram:

Pull off your shirt and get out in the sun more often,it has much of the needed frequency of light plus other wavelengths that we do not have any studies on.

We were born naked,no fur,and there is a reason for that.

Nature is not wasteful

From personal experience:

Stay on your feet no matter how bad you feel.

Lying down allows the fluids to settle in your lungs, and it will get worse.

Perhaps hospitals should start treating patients in a standing position.

Of course sunshine is not a cure all,or there would be no Covid in the equatorial countries or primitive societies, but this study indicates it has a beneficial effect.

Sunshine also produces VitaminD3 in the body, and nearly everyone that wears clothes needs vitamin D3.

Of course there is no way to profit from sunshine, and no motive to shorten hospital stays.Tesla's free energy idea was shot down because the investors could not see a return on investment if he was going to give it away.By the time the watt meter was invented it was too late.

Some of his ideas are still on the shelf,no since upsetting the apple cart full of money, but there is hardly anything in the modern world that his genius has not touched at some point.

Most of his files were seized by gov'ment officials and only a few of them made it back to his home country, (now Croatia),and even some of them there are still classified.

I read somewhere that the frequency he theorized using was around 7 or 8 Hz,something about harnessing the ionosphere and Earth's magnetic fields.

Kind of raises an eyebrow when his towers were immediately sold for scrap after he died.

No matter the government or group, money is always the master.

Warning I have no medical qualifications to be able to claim that this would be safe, but wouldn't have any hesitation trying one myself.

It's worth pointing out that you could make one of these "jackets" with about $100 dollars worth of these IR LEDS from Digikey

https://www.digikey.co.uk/en/products/detail/lumileds/L1I0-0940150000000/7243417

I've only drawn one half of the vest the other would be the same, but use the same 15 Volt 2 Amp power supply.

Physically one half of the vest would be a 5 by 5 matrix of diodes spaced about 8 cm apart (so a 32 cm or 13" square).

The diodes would need to be held about 3 cm (1¼") away from the skin: I chose the 150° viewing angle ones to minimize that distance.

I am only driving the LEDs at 1 fifth of their rated current.

GA, I think.

I've done no calculations regarding the energy levels of the LEDs in your concept, and am not sure that they will still emit significant IR energy at 1/5 of their rated current.

We (or at least I) know nothing of the spectrum emitted by the LEDs in the original vest (other than that they were considered IR LEDs), nor of their emission dispersion, but I do remember that the original vest had 300 LEDs, so your drawing has only 1/12 of the number of LEDs.

That 3 cm separation from the skin may be excessive, or may not be necessary at all, since the IR waves supposedly penetrate several cm through soft tissue, and will naturally disperse due to irregularities in the tissue.

There is clearly a need for significant research regarding wavelength, intensity, duration, repetition frequency, number of LEDs required, etc. for maximum efficacy.

The LEDS used in the original vest were rated at 20 mW (Hence 300 x .02 = 6Watts.); the ones I have chosen are rated at 1450 mW at 1 Amp (typical)

From https://lumileds.com/wp-content/uploads/files/DS191-luxeon-ir-domed-line-datasheet.pdf

The red line here shows the spectral distribution of the LEDs I've chosen

We only know that the ones used in the original vest were nominally 940 nm

"That 3 cm separation from the skin may be excessive, or may not be necessary at all, since the IR waves supposedly penetrate several cm through soft tissue, and will naturally disperse due to irregularities in the tissue."

I was being ultra cautious. Having now seen the power spectrum of an incandescent light bulb: I am certain you are right.

"There is clearly a need for significant research regarding wavelength, intensity, duration, repetition frequency, number of LEDs required, etc. for maximum efficacy."

Absolutely.

Cheaper still

It looks to me as though a 100 Watt incandescent light bulb emits about 6 Watts of energy in the relevant spectrum:

From https://www.edn.com/extend-the-life-of-led-lighting-systems-with-thermal-management/

Since the original experiment was unclear/unsure of what the effective spectrum would be those emissions above 1000 nm might make the total effective power very high.

I wonder if there is any correlation between covid outcomes and uptake of LED bulbs?

Re: Exciting New Tool For Fighting Covid 19

01/13/2023 6:29 AM

I had a cold about 8 weeks ago; colds always linger on with me, and, I was dreading catching one because it was the first since the start of the pandemic. Since then I have had a permanently blocked/runny nose, making it really difficult to sleep. Because of this thread, I remembered that when I was still working I used to use a red light therapy treatment for hay fever like this:-

https://lloydspharmacy.com/products/lloydspharmacy-allergy-reliever

It's basically two red LEDs that you stick up your nose. I used to use it for a couple of months each year: once on the way to work and once on the way home. It kept hay fever completely under control.

I found it in the car and remarkably the battery is still OK. I've been using it about twice a day and although my nose is still a bit runny it is no longer blocked so I've been sleeping OK.

I have no idea what the frequency of the LEDs is, but, they are very visibly red (in the dark the bridge of you nose glows red). I wonder if a longer wavelength would be better?

this is off topic, so I marked it that way. but when you mentioned red light therapy.

I worked with a guy who was ex military, when he got out of the military, he was great at writing for government grant money, and introducing new product.

One product he was working on was a visual light therapy that was fast tracked for turning veteran from the middle east with PTSD.

He let me try a prototype, to say the least, it was interesting. The interesting part, is if your healthy, one should pass on it.

Are you saying that because you do not have PTSD it had an adverse or unpleasant effect?

No, it wasn’t for just PTSD, but it could be used for that.

to digress further… the government fast tracked it because the returning veterans had PTSD, and they wanted to address it by-passing some governmental regulations to market and become available to returning veterans the gulf.

it was an early proto-type, so it was set up rather rudimentary where you had to set the settings for the response you’re looking for. and the responses, would stimulate and release hormones (such as adrenaline, dopamine, serotonin, cortisol and melatonin, etc…) depending the mood that your looking for,

they had manual, I did the setting for relaxation.

it was a proto-type mind you. I did the settings, and tried it… and the feeling of anxiety came over… I took it off, and checked and double check the setting… that was on the instructions…

I set it down… and told let him pick it up… he asked what I thought about it… and I told him… he looked at it, he said that was one of the early proto-types. And said that proto-type was a mistake. I don’t recall, either the manufacture of the holes messed up on the setting, or the printer that did the directions… but the setting were basically the opposite.

Having a fast-track on products doesn’t always work… there has to be checks and balances.

He said to try it an again, but I had to declined,…

Wow! They used a 660nm laser at a fairly high power:-

For 15 minutes.

The thing I use is not visible (when in use) in normal light conditions, and, it just runs for 3 minutes each time you use it.

The Introduction describes three types:-

" Three different devices for rhinophototherapy have been developed [3]. One device emits a visible red light at a single wavelength of 660 nm (red light rhinophototherapy, RLRPT). The second device emits an infrared light at wavelengths of 652 nm and 940nm. The third device emits a composite light which consists of 70% visible light, 25% ultraviolet light-A, and 5% ultraviolet light-B."

I am surprised they restricted their tests to the first; I suspect that mine is the second; I would avoid the third without more information.

I have tried to find the detailed spec. of the one I use, you would obviously be much better at searching.

I found this

https://www.infrared-light-therapy.com/intranasal-light-therapy/

Which implies that the Lloyds one (that I use) is 630 nm only.

That would be an orange colour

And it looks very red.

Saline nasal spray has been shown to reduce the viral load of many infectious diseases, including Covid. It is cheap and available without a prescription. The addition of a small amount of baby shampoo increases it's effectiveness.

https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT04347538

Once they figure out how to make money on this it will be widely recommended for prevention and therapy.

To extract DNA, first you must dissolve the fatty layer, which is done by detergents, then you have to break down the protein by using a digestive enzyme, like Papain(meat tenderizer). This allows the naked DNA to separate.

I am sure that eventually, they will develop a patented compound that is composed of these simple ingredients.

It will be by Rx only, and will be very expensive.

I am not recommending trying to make your own compound, but saline spray is very effective at cleaning the nasal passages, and flushing out (cling-ons ) in the nasal cavities. If aspirin was just developed,it would be 5$ a pill and Rx only.

Epsom salt crystals have a very sharp point on them which can pierce viruses on contact.A light spray of saturated solution on the outside of the mask can, IMHO,provide a little extra protection against viruses.I am not saying to try any of this, and this is not medical advice or recommendations, just an application of common sense that works for me.

Ha! Early on with my problem I described the symptoms to a chemist: they sold me a nasal spray solution. When I looked at the bottle after I got it home it said it was "sea water". They've figured out how to sell the most widely available free commodity on earth for $5 for a small bottle.

It did clean out my nose but didn't stop it being blocked at night.

I would not advise using sea water because of all the pollution nowadays, but the saline percentage is the same.

It must be closely controlled (.65%) or you will have problems. That is why it is not recommended to do your own mixing of saline solution.

At least is is not prescription and super expensive.

If you live near the ocean and have a year around warm climate, you can inhale all you want freely at the beach.

I think the main problem with modern society's health is that we spend too little time outside, and we are too clean. Our immune system is never fully developed. When I was growing up as a kid you spent most of the day outside. You only went inside to eat or sleep. We worked on the farm all day,and had good appetite at meals, and were not picky eaters. We walked through all types or manure barefooted, and never gave it a thought,we simply did the "moon walk" to scrub it off.(This was many years before it was well known and popular). The smell of the old farm still lingers in my memory, and non farmers may find it objectionable, but I find it comforting, except of course, the new mass-produced industrialized farming of animals, like chickens, turkeys and pigs and cattle.

IMHO,the immune system is like an army:

Imagine that you have millions of soldiers ready to attack any invaders, and they have very little to do.They become bored, and start attacking friendlies;AKA" Autoimmune disease. The soldiers also fail to recognize the enemy at first, because they have never seen it before. Then they over compensate, and start attacking everything.Result: allergies, etc.

IMHO the immune system needs exercise, just like soldiers,to keep in shape.

"The cure for anything is salt water: sweat, tears, or the sea."--Isack Dynsen

I had the same problem once, and I discovered it was caused by sleeping with my nose in a crack.

The best thing I have found for morning congestion is V8 juice. It is acidic, and cuts the phlegm chemically.Orange juice is good too,but v8 is better,in my case.YMMV.Also 1000 Mg vitamin C. is a good supplement.

Good point: I'm OK for my five a day, but, loads of people swear by vitamin C, I've ordered a years supply. Even if they don't help with my current problem, anecdotally they should reduce the severity of any future colds.

I have read where Vitamin D3 decreases the occurrence of nearly all diseases, including Covid and Cancer.I cannot find the link with the chart, but it was presented by the USCD.

https://health.ucsd.edu/news/releases/Pages/2018-06-15-greater-levels-of-vitamin-d-associated-with-decreased-risk-of-breast-cancer.aspx

Basically, nearly all diseases dropped off of the chart when sufficient vitamin D3 was present. You must also take plenty of calcium if taking larger doses of D3 because it is the "traffic cop" for calcium.Calcium is always in circulation in your body.Today the calcium in your teeth may be in your foot tomorrow,andD3 controls where it goes.Otherwise,it could cause problems, like osteoporosis.

(I take 5000Iu D3 per day,and 1500 mg CMZ (calcium,magnesium And zinc).

This works for me..YMMV

YMMV
