A1) It looks as though only one phase is being used, though a phone call to <...ABB...> would confirm it (invitation declined), or perhaps a look at the wiring diagram for the equipment, which has been withheld from the forum.

Only one of the 3 phases is used to energize the relay.

Yes. And the energy it takes to do that is printed on the label of the device...Watts, Amps and/or Volts.

Those are not ABB proprietary terms, they are very normal English words that can only be interpreted within the context of the subject relay equipment. So without the model number of the relay, any response is totally guesswork. You will need to read the manual after all.
