...'A proposal to install a Level 2 EV charger in Florida should include: identifying a suitable location for the charger, obtaining necessary permits, selecting a qualified electrician to perform the installation, exploring potential rebates and incentives from local utilities like Duke Energy, and ensuring compliance with Florida's current regulations regarding EV charging station installation; with a focus on accessibility and convenience for users while adhering to local permitting requirements. "....

Key elements of the proposal:

  • Location Assessment:
    • Accessibility: Choose a location easily accessible to EV owners, such as a dedicated parking space at home, a public parking lot, or a commercial establishment with high traffic.
    • Power Availability: Verify the existing electrical infrastructure can support a Level 2 charger, including sufficient amperage and circuit capacity.
    • Permits and Compliance: Check local zoning and building codes to ensure compliance with any necessary permits for EV charging station installation.
  • Charger Selection:
    • Brand and Model: Research available Level 2 chargers considering features like charging speed, smart charging capabilities, and compatibility with various EV models.
    • Power Requirements: Choose a charger that aligns with the available power supply and desired charging speed.
  • Installation Process:
    • Electrician Selection: Hire a licensed electrician experienced with EV charger installation to ensure proper wiring and safety standards.
    • Electrical Work: This may include running new dedicated circuits, installing a heavy-duty outlet, and necessary conduit work.
    • Mounting and Connection: Securely mount the charger at the chosen location and connect it to the power source.
  • Incentives and Rebates:
    • Utility Programs: Explore available rebates or incentives offered by Florida utilities like Duke Energy for installing Level 2 chargers.
    • Local Government Programs: Investigate any local government programs providing financial assistance for EV charging infrastructure.
  • User Interface and Management:
    • Charging Options: Consider features like smart charging scheduling, payment options, and user-friendly interface.
    • Signage: Clearly mark the charging station with appropriate signage indicating availability and usage instructions.

Important Considerations:

  • Florida Regulations: Stay updated on the latest state laws and regulations regarding EV charging station installation, which may be subject to change.
  • Community Engagement: If installing a charger in a shared space, consider involving stakeholders like property managers or residents to ensure equitable access and usage.
  • Maintenance Plan: Establish a maintenance plan for the charging station to ensure proper functionality and address any potential issues.

Where would one be these days without YouTwitFace (rhetorical question - NNTR)?

Here is everything you wanted to know about it.

Easy as Pi,as are all government documents.

https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2023/02/28/2023-03500/national-electric-vehicle-infrastructure-standards-and-requirements

You do not state if it is commercial or not,how many outlets, etc.Your location a,lot of details left out.

Basically, you should not do it if you are not licensed to perform this level of work.
