Local Control Station - Start Stop Remote

10/14/2024 4:33 PM

Engaging means if tilted to that position, it stays there.

Spring means return to previous position. is that right?

Therefore from the picture, only "start" returns to previous position? and "stop" stays in the same position if somebody puts in "stop" position.

Am I right?

I believe you are correct in the interpretation of this graphic.

You are correct. This sounds like a typical 3-position selector switch. Turning (tilting) the knob to the right closes the start contact while maintaining the closure of the remote contact. When you take your hand off the knob, it spring returns to the center. If turned to the left, it remains in that position until further operator action. The 1-2 contacts might not be used, unless they are to illuminate a (typically) red pilot light to give a visual indication that the control is "off".

When you have two or more of these selector switches all controlling the same equipment or device, the 3-4 contacts are wired in parallel and the 5-6 contacts in series.
