Eroda Spark Eroder Machine

Can anybody please help me to get a wiring circuit diagram for an Eroda EDM. The machine serial number is 81035. The company who made the machine was Eroda Machinery Ltd UK, but they have been dissolved.

I have tried all I could without success, this is my last effort.

The machine is eroding extremely slowly and I have tried to check the circuit but it is fairly complicated as the wires are not marked and all are the same color. The transistor markings have also faded totally.

The description on the machine is:Aroda.

N.E. Eroda Machinery Ltd, Electro Discharge Equipment.

Unit D Taoman street, Wakefield WF1Sou, Yorkshire.

Hi Johan, in your opening post you wrote "Can anybody please help me to get a wiring circuit diagram for an Eroda EDM" using the word Eroda, now you are using a completely new word " Aroda".
Please confirm which machine you have, maybe a foto of the Data Plate information would be helpful !

They have gone out of business three times, and each time they change the name slightly, and start a new business...

If I were to guess, I would say the private company owns the public company/companies that keep failing...this is probably designed as a liability dodge...so good luck trying to deal with them directly...what you need is a specialist that can redesign or replace the part/or parts that have failed...would be my advice..or you can keep trying to figure it out yourself...this all depends on financial means at your disposal...

Although the wiring diagram might help: what you really need is the circuit diagram for the pulse generator PCB.

Just looking for any EDM pulse generator circuit diagrams on the net might help.

But there might be a short cut: does the PCB have any Aluminium Electrolytic capacitors on it? If so replace them. Exact equivalents will do, but if you can get higher temperature/longer life versions they will last longer. Better still would be to replace them with equivalent voltage and capacitance MLCCs (MultiLayer ceramic Capacitors) but this might be impractical.

This "fix" works for loads of "power supply" type problems. Often you can spot the dried out capacitors because their cans are "rising up" off the PCB.

No unfortunately that was a different company to ours and we are not affiliated in any way (there were two separate companies set up by brothers who had fallen out). Eroda machinery has long since been out of business so sorry but we cannot be of any assistance.

If I understand your orginal post the machine works but is slow.. maybe you could try to find out which parts / components would make it slow.. I don't recall if you said how old the machine is, maybe when it was built, it was the normal speed ?

Hi

I only write this reply to explain you will not be able to contact the original company. My farther owned it and he died over 20 years ago. Also, it was not brothers that fell out, not sure why they said that. and the other companies were not tax scams. I don’t know why I feel the need to explain to online sort of hate, but that was my dads and he was in business along time and was legit!! Anyway I do hope you get it sorted.

Looking through the indexes of the various EDM books that I have:

Cyssau's L'Usinage et le Durcissement par Etincelage lists an "Erodomatic" machine manufactured by a company named Wickman in England. No wiring diagram.

Spark Machining published by The Machinery Pubishing Co., Ltd mentions the same machine, or family of machines. No wiring diagram.

Neither entry mentions running "too slowly" in its troubleshooting section.
