Disappearing Sock

I hate to tell you this, but I found a lead to your missing sock. He went bad and started his own business... He's quite popular, others are looking for him also.

Ha ha... nationwide search for HTRN's missing sock...probably in some Guatemalan prison by now..maybe he'll come back with a new hit song 'Doin' the Guatemalan perp walk'...

You know, that poster got me to thinkin'.

If all these people are wanted, why didn't they jus' keep 'em when they took their picture?

And another thing: Before GPS was even thought of, shopping malls knew exactly where you were.

I know this because when I approached a mall map, it always says: "You are here."

They must have had a Mall Positioning System(MPS) but never revealed to the public

for fear of invasion of privacy accusations.

AND THEY ARE STILL DOING IT!

I know the single sock missing in the washing machine is held captive by the water pump and only released when the ransom of more socks is payed. Sometimes they can't toe the line and wriggle out from the bowl and and hot foot it to behind the machine. Being in sunny Qld the need for a dryer is negated by the lovely cancerous sunlight burning the water off to make water vapour to trap more heat in the atmosphere.

I am installing infrared cameras in my closets and on my drier to see if I can catch them in the act.

Who knows, I may get an Ignoble prize!

For every 11 socks that disappear a mysterious new knitted jersey appears. Basic physics.

Actually, the right number is 42.

I have also noticed that the color of navel lint matches the color of the disappearing sock. I conclude that some of the pupae stage that fail are relegated to the sock black hole.

Sometimes the lint is deposited in layers of various colors ,like geologic strata. I am working on theory to enable time dating the layers if I can get a government grant for it

The first million$$ will get me started. The Gary Farley* foundation has already contributed a significant amount of raw material for research.
