For food we only use 316L ss with Argon welding.

That's my position as well.

More specifically. EP or BA 316L SS, GTAW orbital method, Inert purge gas of Ar.

In compliance with FDA.

Avoid the use of thermoplastics for food use; not only are they unable to withstand high temperatures, some of them may actually release toxic substances at high temperatures.

Most "steam injected" convection ovens that I am familiar with use a water control valve (solenoid valve) that turns water on to a "tee jet" spray head which sprays water onto the heating element thereby producing steam. If it's the solenoid valve that you are looking for in plastic, that is the only form that I have seen them in. In addition to their use in convection ovens, they are used to control water in coffee machines, ice machines, cappuccino machines, etc. Should be a common item. You will also find them in domestic refrigerators that have built-in icemakers, and washing machines. Try Goggle. I'm sure you will strike paydirt.

The multi-national company "INVENSYS" manufactures these controls. Check out http://www.invensyscontrols.com
