Has Anyone Used Keyence SJ-F700 Static Eliminator on Laminator Machines?

02/26/2026 10:44 PM

Hello everyone,

In a laminator machine (PVC or aluminum film laminated onto paper), we are facing static charge buildup during the process. The sheets become electrically charged and stick together, which creates feeding problems in the downstream die-cut machine.

We are considering installing a Keyence SJ-F700 blower-type static eliminator to solve this issue.

I would like to ask:

  • Has anyone installed the SJ-F700 (or similar blower-type ionizer) on a laminating or sheet-processing machine?
  • Did it effectively reduce sheet sticking and feeding problems?
  • Where did you position it (after lamination rollers, before stacking, before feeder, etc.)?
  • Any practical advice or lessons learned?

I would appreciate feedback from those with real industrial experience.

Thank you.

I have 0 industrial experience. That said, can you drag a carbon fiber rope over the surface? It might introduce wear product but not knowing the specifics I would look at the simple solutions. A dry carbon fiber rope that is grounded would reduce charge considerably and be cheap and easy. Jus say'in.

In one of the paper mills I worked in, we used ionization bars about 8 feet wide to neutralize the charge on the paper running at 30 mph on to a winding roll. Running a very dry web built up tremendous charges on the web, with lightning running off the web to machine operators.

These bars worked well, running right next to the web. The bar was located immediately before the winding roll, a big steel drum. A plastic covered Mt. Hope spreader did nothing to affect the charge, and the paper winds on itself, so is insulated after the initial wrap. A steel roller 3 feet before the winding roll did not reduce the charge, it touched the web at a tangent.

On a sheet fed system, a blower may not have enough effect to neutralize the charge without disturbing the web. Web moisture, speeds & ambient humidity will change your needs. You need to place the equipment as close as possible to the point in the process where you need the charge to be effective. The moving web will pick up charge as it goes along.

We had used foil garlands to attempt to discharge the web, they were ineffective.

That being said, I have used Keyence in more than a few experimental processes, and find them an able partner to focus on a solution, and follow through.

simple earthing with a piece of wire would ground as and when generated.
