IEC 62271-200: HV/MV Switchgear - LSC2B

03/25/2026 2:27 AM

1) For a withdrawable VT, if withdrawal is permitted only after the cable earth switch is closed, can this arrangement still be classified as LSC2B?

Or

2) In an LSC2B arrangement, it shall be able to withdraw the VT while the cable remains energized?

Both the arrangements are still LSC2B?

Incase of 2) --> since the VT door is open, Is the Internal Arc classification still valid?

VT is a potential transformer for instrumentation or protective device sensing or polarization, we might assume?

The manufacturer of the equipment will tell you that it is rated LSC2B, if it is indeed so rated. To infer otherwise with so little supporting information would be suspect, at best.
