Do you mean MPEG-4 ??

Movie maker works quite happily with my mpeg4 encoded videos... Maybe you just need to download the correct codec from microsoft?

I would like to know the same answer. My phone uses the mp4 format and I don't have anything that will play them on my PC.

Look for a free code set, something like XP codecs, that should fix your problems.

Most likely you need H.264 codec.

Google MP4 converter.
