A friend wants to build a scale model submarine, and has spent hours searching online for a pump/motor combination unit (less than 12vdc, submersible, self-priming), and hasn't found anything feasible. He wants to have a water-jet type propulsion and will build the RC controls, etc.
This is just for fun, and will be for the pool. Any ideas on how to help him select the type and source of the pump?
He says, and I agree, that until and unless he finds something with suitable power and efficiency, he shouldn't even spec the rest of the design. (Design the craft around the capabilities of the water engine.)
