Few clarifications...

What is the size(capacity).. of the VSD..?

What is the size ( hp) of the identical motors..?

Do you want to start them together or in cascade ( one after other)..?

I am sure you will find these questions relevant..!

There are gurus and pundits in this forum but they all need to get more inputs or they will spin in the realm of uncertainty...!!

Yes they can be run..provided the load is not high torque like pulverisers grinders..etc.

If the drive has been already configured for 1 motor then some parameters like current setting, motor hp, etc...have to be doubled, before starting the motors.

Good luck

you have to set acs550 to scalar mode, ID run is prefered with single motor.

Yes, the VFD cannot accurately identify the motor parameters for vector operation when you have multiple motors. You can only run in Scalar mode (V/Hz).

Also keep in mind that, since you are running two motors on one drive and must set the drive parameters accordindly, you'll need to provide individual protection for your motors.
