Air compressor come in various flavours....reciprocating, screw..etc..

now cfm = cubic feet per minute

This signifies the volume of air it can deliver at a known pressure ( usually 100 psi).

1 cubic feet = 28.32litres

Now if you know the total load of your plant in cfm, then you can order your compressor accordingly..

Squeeze much air in tank using pump. Air in bottle will be more than atmosphere... Can do many magic things with it, like blow up balloons! Make funny fart sounds that irritate your co-workers.

My friends have told you on cfm and flavours of compressors.

Based on cfm , that is the free air around you. Say 100 cfm.

When you compress this to various pressure it becomes compressed air and you have to apply compression factor

So 100 cfm / 7.8 = 12.8 fm compressed air at 100 psig

100 cfm/4.4 = 22.7 cfm compressed air at 50 psig

and so on and so forth.

Ducon (#3) answer is probably worse than the original question.

You asked: Where is filtering of Q's in CR$? Amen. I will only add to it :and where is the filtering of A's in CR4? .

As we both have no power over dumb questions or answers, we can only ignore them, and maybe so discourage posters from posting their kindergarten level questions and answers...

You see, they can't even choose the correct section, What for god sakes has this question got to do with Electrical engineerings???

Keep it as CR4 logo clearly states: "The engineers place for news and discussions"

Compressors work on electricity so he selected this . Had it worked on hand pump he'd have selected mechanical engineering.

Just a observation... As the holidays are upon us, I've noticed that the typo "CR$" is being made more and more often.

The pressure and temperature of the compressed air delivered per minute defines the actual gram moles of air and volume of the air at standard conditions (atmospheric pressure [14.7 psia] and temperature [77 deg F]) that you need. The compressor is to be sized to meet your needs (plus an additional safety factor). Then speak to the manufacturers to determine what sizes they can provide to you.
