Small hole cut in thick materials

12/24/2007 4:14 AM

Hi, everybody

We have a problem to set up laser cutting parameters to make a round hole of dia. 2mm on the aluminium alloy 5052 sheet 2.5 mm thk. Where can I obtain some information about this case or common laser cutting parameters setting up, especially for PRIMA 20L cutting machine?

Regards

If not too much a bother, would you let us know what the reply is there?

MAY I SUGGEST a primitive way:

If you know the true centre+/- 0.5 mm---then punchmark and hand-drill throughwith a 1/16" drill bit.

Laser will be happy to do the rest-- this time correct true vertical and round clean bore.
