If you make a stress analysis of flanges the best is to take the 2 data bases and compare by yourself. The importance of your work is such that you should not base it on what some body told you. Of course if it not a school work. If it is a school work it is for you better to notice the differences or similitudes by your own and build up your own opinion.

No the holes won't match. You can specify any you want but the valves & equipments need to be flanged DIN/ANSI else you cannot fit a DIN flanged valve on ANSI flange and vice versa. Please ask your supplier to provide you with the spec sheet of both the types and you can see the difference. Practically all German equipments are DIN & American ANSI so is Japan JIS.

HI

YOU CAN NOT COMPARE THE FLANGES FROM TWO DIFFERENT STANDARDS.

DEPENDING UPON THE REQUIREMENT BY CUSTOMER (OR THE COUNTRY'S ACCEPTABLE STANDARD CODES) YOU HAVE TO DESIGN THE FLANGES AS PER DEFINED STANDARDS. THE DESIGN CONSISTS OF THE MAX. ALLOWABLE PRESSURE AND TEMPERATURE.

DIN flanges as a German code is differs from ANSI (now recognized as ASME) flanges as American code. The ASME flanges can be specified in customary units as NPS (in inches) or in DN (in mms).

For example : for 12" NPS ≡ DN 300, that is to say that DIN is not DN.

DEAR SIR

I , UNDERSTAND YOU WANT TO KNOW FOR NOMINAL SIZE OF FLANGE 12" (300MM) OF PN25 WHICH IS THE EQUIVALENT PRESSURE RATING IN ANSI(ASME) FLANGE, IS IT SO ?

THEN ,PLEASE NOTE 'PN25' IS NOT EQUIVALENT OR ALTERNATIVE TO ANY OF PRESSURE RATING OF ASME SUCH AS 150#,300# SO ON.

IN DIN PRESSURE RATING IS KG/CM.SQ. AND IN ASME IT IS lb /INCH.SQ.

TEMPLATE DIMEN. SUCH ASOD,RFD,PCD,HOLE DIA,NO OF HOLE ARE NOT MATCHING OF BOTH STD.

THAN YOU

V.D.DEODHAR.
