SS is used in n000 applications.

Dental PFM probably consumes less than 0.1% annual SS ingots production - done in Billion-Dollar SSMelt shops/Ingot-casting foundries.Ingots ~a ton each .

A dental PFM foundry will buy a few Kg SS bars/flats /cutoffs from a short list of SS steelmongers. They will sell ex stock with alloy composition Certificates.

You are looking for something different.

You are looking for all that goes to make up the production chain--Laser melters,Crucibles,Investment casting tools -of-the -trade.

You need to begin here:http://www.kellysearch.com/qn-product-15096.html

Please tell me you don't want to use this as a dental crown application; the stuff is bio toxic and no self respecting dental lab would fill an order for it, and no self respecting dentist would place it in a patients mouth.

The stuff has been widely used for years. Some people (particularly women) are allergic to the nickel. California has been raising red flags about this for some time. I'm not an expert at all but I seem to remember that salivia corrosion is the big issue.

Have any places banned it?

muktibodh,

I am not sure of the application of this alloy for Dental crowns, but I can direct you to a foundry in India.

Shah Alloys is one of the the bigger SS manufacturers in India, situated in Ahmadabad, Gujarat.

You can Contact Mr. Mukesh Bandari, CMD of Electrotherm India Ltd on 079 373 4553 - 57 or mb@electrotherm.com. They supplied Shah Alloys with most of their equipment. They will also be able to assist you in selecting the right equipment. (They situated in Ahmadabad, Gujarat)

Hope this helps,

TC
