Looking For Small Potable Light Fixtures

01/02/2008 2:26 PM

Hi all:

I am looking for some leads to find a manufacturer/supplier that can provide some light fixtures for a very specific product environment.

I am designing/building a small mobile table top photography studio for taking high resolution photos of coins and other small products such as jewelry.

I am looking for light fixtures that would mount in a case that will meet airline carry on size/weight restrictions. These lights will need to be connected to an internal wiring harnesss for power. and be able to be broken down for storage in the case when not being used or it is being transported. I envison them being on some form of gooseneck with a power connection on the stable end that would plug uinto a fixed power and support stancion at each corner of the case. I could se ethe gooseneck being 12" long with a couple being up to 24" long.

I would prever LCD or low voltage bulbs for power and heat reasons.

There will be two different types of lights, Flood and spot lighs.

The flood lights will have a color temp of 5000 - 5600 kevin color temperature and a CRI index of at least 91 +, would prefer closer to 100; the lumens have not been determined at this time, but they will need to illuminate an area no larger than a 14x14x14 inch area. IN all reality, the final area willl probably be samller.

THe other lights would be spots lights and I have not figured out there specs yet but they would be more for creating brillance and sparkle when taking jewelry photos.

Also, I will see these lights each being on a seperate on/off/dimmer switch that can be controlled eithe manully or via computer with a usb port.

I look forward to any suggestion on where I can find the lights/fixtures and the control panel. Thanks

Thanks,

Have a look at:-

http://www.dotlight.de/shop/

Their prices are reasonable and they have a good range of products including accessories.

You might also take a look at www.fisherlight.com and www.litepanels.com.

We are stocking, and selling the Cree, 3 watt Full Color spectrum (5,000-5,500 degrees Kelvin) LED spot that can operate on 120/220 volts 50/60 hz This uses a standard med base socket, (E26/27) so that you could use the mains wherever you are, and a simple incandescent gooseneck socket is available basically anywhere..
