I would like to know if anyone is in the academic world. I am a new graduate but will like to take up a lecturer career in the chemical department or any department where chem engr subjects could be of help.

Thank you for hearing me out.

Does this mean you have no real world experience, yet wish to lecture?

Try applying for a job in my country, Singapore. It is probably the only country on Earth where paper qualifications are much more important than actual practical experience. Being a foreigner helps you a lot; the government here favors foreigners over locals because they're trying to increase the population.

For the National University of Singapore, email your resume to ohrgen@nus.edu.sg

For the Nanyang Technological University, email your resume to Acad-recruitment@ntu.edu.sg, attn to: School of Chemical & Biomedical Engineering.

I'm not joking about the statement where paper is more important than experience. A former boss of mine is not a qualified engineer, knows absolutely nothing about technical matters in fact, but was made head of department of Facilities Engineering, and now head of department of Safety, believe it or not!!!!

As anyone here can expect, he was a complete bomb at everything he did, with heavy staff resignations and escalating operating costs everywhere he went, but is still rated as good simply because he's a government scholar. Go figure!!!!
