Compressor Selection

04/06/2006 7:07 AM

Sheikh writes:
We are considering putting up a boosting station for compressing natural gas from 30 to 55 bar. We want to combine high efficiency of gas engine driver with high reliability of centrifugal compressor. Is it a relatively uncommon combination of compressor and driver type? Any input?

This can be further confirmed,if we get feedback from someone who has already made use of such application. We can learn from past experience rather than having to reinvent the wheel.

Concidering the cost of avilable fuels like HSD,HFO etc and emission issues with these engines its advisible to choose Gas engines provided you have an assured supply of Gasues fuel.I dont know where you are located Number of Power plants are running on Gas engines in and arround Delhi.Gujarath etc.Who are operating Gas compressors driven by gas engines.

Try FES Systems of York, PA. They build screw compressor gas drive packages for the gas distribution industry. I've used their equipment in the past and have had very good results. Gary Wessel
