'Running' Motor

04/27/2005 3:48 AM

Now I've seen it all.
For $250 you can have your own pair of computerized running shoes. Each 'sneaker' has a microprocessor, a magnetic sensor, and a tiny electric motor which "turns a metal rod that adjusts the hollow plastic heel...for cushioning according to the individual wearer's running style and pace and to changes in terrain."
Pretty cool technology...
...but I'll keep you posted with articles on the arrests of people trying to board planes with 'illegal' footware.

No thanks, I'll keep my $50 Reeboks, but don't expect me to run barefoot.
