Power Consumption For Capacitor

01/10/2008 6:39 AM

1.What is the power consumption for 1 Kva of capacitor bank?

2. While designing the transformer and max. demand, wheather capacitor load to be considered?

Capacitor banks consume very little power. Their job is power factor correction.

<2. While designing the transformer and max. demand, wheather capacitor load to be considered?>

If the capacitor bank has been sized so that the system power factor is unity, then no.

It all depends on the frequency and how the circuit is designed.

Try Thevenizing the cct.
