Can Cast Iron Diaphragm Valves Be Used in Aseptic Applications?

I am interested to know for general aseptic process purpose can diaphragm valves with cast iron bonnet (Non product contact part) be used?

It is the wetted materials, only, that must be suitable for, and compatible with, aseptic service. Local standards will give guidance.

Whether cast iron is suitable for the general environment in which the valve may be found is a judgement that no respondent can make.
