Poron gasket

01/15/2008 5:13 PM

Is Poron Urethane considered a rubber material? The reason I ask is because I have a design that uses Poron as a gasket material. My concern is that I need to meet a certain specification that states the following: "Components manufactured from rubber compounds, such as seals and gaskets, shall show no signs of surface ozone cracking."

Thanks,

Brian

Generally the urethane formulations are considered to be part of the synthetic rubber family. For your purposes, I would expect urethane to fall under the spec you quoted.
