If I understand your question correctly – the 'interruption' might be due to an open – as a circuit breaker for example – and if the various locations on the power line communications system are on a circuit that is essentially disconnected from other power circuits – that area will not be in communication with the system.

If these assumptions are correct a solution is using bridging capacitors at the potential 'open circuit' locations [making sure one uses high voltage AC capacitors of course] just as is done in the case where a pole transformer may intervene in the system.
