Shaded pole motor

01/28/2008 10:55 PM

Hi Guys. My name is 'Ecarlo'. and I'm very happy to be a member of CR4.

My friend needs a motor for a vent fan in his kitchen so I'm assuming that he needs a shaded pole motor. I haven't had a look at his his problem so I don't have any specs. I live in New York City and I would like to know where in my area I can find a dealer in these motors.

Thank you.

What is the make of the vent fan? What is the telephone number of the spares and service department of the maker? Is the maker listed in Yellow Pages? Will a Google search find the maker's contact details?

For almost any motor replacement, a good place to start is Grainger

www.Grainger.com

There's also a good chance you can fix the thing. Most shaded pole motors go bad because of the bearings. Sometimes you can just relube them or you can replace them. I'm betting a kitchen vent fan is gummed up.

Graingers Nation wide supplies a lot of OEM motors just for such a replacement.
