Properties of Carbon Steel EN8

Can I use material EN8 for Sacrificial Anodes in Sea Water Condenser.I am suppose to use Ductile Iron. One of the Supplier has recommended EN8. Please tell me if EN8 material has simillar chemical properties as that of Ductile Iron.

I have seen ductile iron blocks used on sea water equipment which are entirely eaten away by the salt water. If your equipment is expensive, which it always is, you should consider the cost of the damage if it is not protected properly.

It depends upon what the rest of the condenser is made from, which isn't stated in this post. Yet.
