Hello Icarus

I went to the Copeland Website.

They want me to Register, which I declined.

I tried for the publications.

I received the message: No Literature Available for this Audience type

So that's it from me, because I cannot be bothered to Register, just to locate the information which should be freely available.

Kind Regards....

Hello YWROADRUNNER

Evidently they don't want to give away any secrets.

How they expect a potential customer to locate information, I just cannot understand at all.

Kind Regards....

I would be very carefull, contact the Copeland corporation or any refrigeration parts wholesaler who will tell you the difference as it could be an application issue and the wrong compressor in the wrong application spells certain dissaster. Good luck

I found a website showing different models of Copeland compressors, but they did not exactly match what you have listed. The models were of 3 alpha-numeric or 3 alpha characters, such as, 4RL & 4RR. Best bet would be to give them a call and they would most likely be able to help you.

LOW TEMP USUALLY ICE MACHINES. SAME VOLTAGE SAME CAPACITY SAME VOLUMETRIC EFFICIENCY DIFFERENT GENERATION OF SAME COMPRESSOR. ELECTRICAL AND REFRIGERANT CONNECTIONS MIGHT BE LOCATED DIFFERENTLY BUT EASY TO REWORK AS LONG AS THE "PECKER HEAD" HAS SUFFIENT CLEARANCE/

I agree. I don't have a number like that in my books, but a change in the digit that far down on a Copeland compressor is usually a minor (?) variation such as roto-loc instead of sweat suction line. That is a minor difference if it will fit in the cabinet! -- JHF

Contact Copeland. I have worked with them. They have very knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful people. Retailers and distributers, not so much.

Hi I own a Scientific Service company and have been doing cascade refrigeration for 30 years. The RF41C5E-CAA is Identical to the RF41C1E with the aception of the rist pin being about a 1/16 larger and the top ring on the piston ring being about 1/8th on an inch closer to the top of the piston. This C5 compressor was made for Revco Scientific and called a Legacy trade mark on there freezers. The C1 and the C5 both are around 1 hp and both are used in low temp applications. The C5 was designed so it would be OEM and only be purchased from Revco.

Good day Guest, i also service low temp Revco and Thermo Electron products, i would like to know what the difference is in the RF41C5E-CAA and a RF40C1E-CAV I have seen the RF41C5E-CAA on the high side and the RF40C1E-CAV used on the low. in the copeland specs they are identical as far as cfh and electrical specs go. I know the 41 is 2 lbs heaver? must be an internal difference?

Thanks
