Earth hole size

will anybody help me to know that Y d Eath hole size is bigger in the Plug point ?

Hello Kabir

You don't say your location, therefore I don't know what actual plug and socket you are referring to.

The Earth/Ground connection is normally made larger than the others, and the Earth/Ground pin on a plug is slightly longer, this is to ensure the Earth/Ground connection is physically stronger, and makes before all others, likewise disconnecting after all others.

The reason is safety.

For any electrical connection the thumb rule is that "earth connection is the first connection to be given and is the last connection to be removed". In that manner only the earth points are usually long and stout. Also has the advantage of polarity fool profing.

In addition to the above, it is done so that the earth pin cannot be inserted into the neutral hole or (good grief, Ethel! ) the live hole. In that way, the casing of the appliance cannot become live inadvertently.
