Design it so that it will perform the required function whilst being easilly injection molded using a tool which is quick, simple and cheap to make, without any fancy sliding cores etc. Using a plastic which will do the job but is cheap and readilly available.

Hello Guest,

Make it of wood, and use ropes.

That way it is ecologically good, is replaceable from natural materials, and is very cheap, much cheaper than plastic made from petroleum.

Not nearly enough information. How big? How strong? How cheap? Temperatures? Shock loads? Maximum friction? Criticality? Kind of rope?

Why not just buy one? There are tons available.
