Why would you want to in the first place. Fastening pieces together requires welding or brazing only in special cases. So the question WHY is essential.

The are not welded. Field wire is soldered to the stud. A tin/lead solder will do.

The metals will form a nice little battery. If the assembly is placed in contact with an electrically-conductive fluid, then corrosion will ensue. What's this for? An aircraft?

Soldering will work - with the right solder and flux. It's a lot easier than welding. Aluminium and brass tend to burn unless the atmosphere surrounding them is inert, which doesn't need to happen with soldering.

First, yes you can. Friction welding (spinweld) will do this.

But, I gotta join others in asking why. This is a potential corrosion problem.

What is friction welding? I have an electric golf cart motor that the aluminum fields have broken away from the brass terminal studs.

thank-you

OK, now I understand your application, I think. You seem to have aluminum windings coming out to brass terminals? Well, I know you can solder them if you get the right flux and solder; drop in your local welding supply and ask. You might also ask about brazing rods, but I'm only guessing about that.

The friction welding obviously won't work on this.
